CNC Machining Processes for Gear Manufacturing
CNC machining processes have taken gear manufacturing to the next level. In the past, every processes had to be carefully done by hand, which in turn resulted in very labor-intensive operations. Nowadays, manufacturers need only have enough capital to invest in high-quality CNC machines, and they can speed up their processes and cut down on hard labor.
At True Gear and Spline, we make sure to maintain an inventory of a diverse array of machines to help us perform crucial gear shaping and cutting processes.
Here are some of the processes that our CNC machines take care of:
- Hobbing: This is one of the most common types of gear manufacturing processes. The machine uses a hob to cut the teeth of a gear, performing one revolution to for each tooth. Like broaching, it is also idea for mass production, though it is also perfectly suitable for medium-sized batches. We have 28 gear hobbers in our facility, ready to service your gear production needs.
- Grinding: True Gear & Spline uses a Kapp Niles ZP 12 to perform our gear grinding operations. It can produce ground gears and other types of gears of up to 1250 mm diameter and 1000 mm face widths.
- Shaping: We have two Mitsubishi ST40 shapers and a Pfauter PSA500 to help us with gear grinding. They have unique features such as the capability to produce internal and external helical hears and double helical gears, as well as standard spur gears and involute splines.
- Cutting: True Gear & Spline houses a Gleason Phoenix 400GH and a Mitsubishi GE20A, among other machines, to perform gear cutting services. With our diverse machinery, we can take care of small or large production runs.
You can rest assured that we at True Gear and Spline offer only the best CNC machining technology. Call us today to learn more about our services!
