Our History

The company’s history started back in 1966 when Vinko Bizjak, the founder of the company, settled in Canada. Despite being a skilled tool and die maker, he initially took a job as a gear cutter in Cambridge. In 1974 his entrepreneurial spirit led to the founding of True Gear & Spline in a modest shop in Cambridge Ontario. A keen interest in technology fueled Vinko’s desire to find better ways to improve the quality of his products.

Over the next 50 years, the company steadily expanded, eventually growing into a modern, technologically-equipped 22,000-square-foot gear manufacturing facility.

In 2016, Vinko and his wife retired, passing the business to their sons, Mark and Vinko Junior. Today, True Gear & Spline stands as a testament to their hard work and vision, recognized as one of the region's premier gear manufacturers, boasting state-of-the-art equipment and a rich history of success.

In the last decade, the company has seen the most dramatic change with the expansion of the facility to 22,000 square feet and the addition of the new state-of-the-art gear manufacturing equipment, including a ZEISS CMM, CNC gear shaping, hobbing and gear grinding machines. The addition of advanced gear manufacturing equipment has helped us meet the increasingly demanding requirements of our valued customers.

For our 50 years of existence, quality, precision, and customer service have been the core values that have shaped our business and continue to do so today.

Company Profile

At True Gear & Spline, consistency is the fundamental factor behind our business operations.

What does it mean to be consistent?

Being consistent means applying the same level of quality to each area of our business, from our excellent customer service standards to the quality products produced on the floor. It means being dependable enough to adapt to the changing needs of your business, through rush gear manufacturing orders or custom designs. But most importantly, consistency means a commitment to delivering you products and services that exceed your expectations each and every time.
